Vinyl film manufacturers utilize two primary methods for producing PVC (Polyvinyl chloride) plastic film; casting or calendaring. Both processes have different qualities and cost. Casting is known by the industry to produce a higher quality product. It starts with a formulation that is added to a mixing churn in a specific order, mixed for a precise time and temperature to ensure a consistent mixture. After the mixture is created it is “cast” onto a moving web and processed through ovens that allow the solvents to evaporate. Once the film has been through the manufacturing process it is slit into rolls and finished with a pressure activated adhesive. This type of film is known as premium cast vinyl, it’s easy to tack and reposition and holds its shape well.

Film Strips
Film strips (also known as filmstrips) are a form of still image instructional media. They were a common method of audiovisual communications in primary and secondary schools up until the late 1980s, when vinyl film manufacturers they were supplanted by newer, lower-cost full-motion videocassettes and DVDs.
A commercially prepared filmstrip consists of a series of color or black-and-white pictures on 35 mm film that is perforated along both edges for movement through the projector. PVC Film

The spacing between the rollers determines the film’s thickness. It can be finished with either a glossy or matte surface. The film is durable and water, humidity, and solvent resistant.
